Rotation Curriculum

Continuity Clinic

• 6-month interval for each continuity clinic (half day per week, 1 day per week when on research during years 2/3, in year 3, can go up to 2-3 days of continuity clinic per week per fellow’s choice, and can have more than one continuity clinic at that time)
• Options for continuity clinic:
  • Breast/GYN
  • Lung/GU
  • GI/Head and Neck
  • Hematology
• Fellows can pick which clinics they want to be part of but have to rotate through each disease type in the first two years (i.e. 6 months of Breast/GYN, 6 months of Hematology, 6 months of Lung/GU, 6 months of GI/Head and Neck = 2 years)
• In the third year, fellows may be able to individualize their continuity clinic based on their area of interest.

Consults

Consults refer to inpatient hematology/oncology consults.

Disease-Focused Outpatient Rotations

• Breast/GYN
• Lung/GU/Melanoma
• GI/Head and Neck
• Hematology

Fellows will rotate throughout the block (4 days = 8 clinic sessions). Fellows will keep their continuity clinic for a half day each week and have a half day each week for administrative tasks, catch-up, lectures etc.

For Years 1-2, fellows will rotate through each of the clinics at least once. For Year 3, fellows can choose which rotations they will complete.

Elective Options

Fellows will have the opportunity to do 1-2 week rotations of electives. Potential electives at this time include:

• Integrative oncology
• Clinical trials
• Radiation oncology
• Genetics
• Menopause
• Bone health/metabolism
• Pain management

Vacation

Vacation can be taken in 1-2 week intervals for a total of 4 weeks per year. For Year 1, fellows will be able to take vacation during research or outpatient rotations. For Years 2 and 3, fellows can take vacation during O/P, research, or elective blocks.
