Core Lecture Series

Our weekly core lecture series provides comprehensive coverage of hematology and medical oncology across the continuum of care, including pathophysiology, epidemiology, diagnosis, staging, risk assessment, and treatment decision-making. Additional topics include genetics and tumor biology, supportive care, survivorship, communication, research methodology, among others.

Journal Club

With faculty mentorship, fellows select and present key medical journal articles, with a focus on critical appraisal of the literature and its application to clinical practice. Journal Club is held monthly.

Multi-Disciplinary Tumor Boards

Fellows attend disease-specific multidisciplinary tumor boards aligned with their clinical rotations and interests. Fellows will present cases, with an emphasis on complex presentations, diagnostic challenges, and management decisions, while participating in collaborative treatment planning.

Grand Rounds and Morbidity and Mortality Conferences

Grand Rounds and Morbidity and Mortality Conferences are incorporated into the fellowship curriculum to support clinical learning and reflective practice. Morbidity and Mortality conferences will provide opportunities to review complex cases, discuss clinical decision-making, and foster a culture of continuous learning, quality improvement, and patient safety.

Additional Educational Opportunities

Fellows are encouraged to attend Department of Medicine conferences and lectures, as well as participate in educational and administrative activities within the cancer center. These may include research meetings, Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) committee discussions, and other multidisciplinary forums that support clinical care, research, and quality improvement.
