The Valley Hospital is a participant in the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) model. The CJR model aims to improve the quality of care for hip and knee replacements (also known as lower extremity joint replacement procedures, or LEJRs). It holds participant hospitals financially accountable for the quality and cost of a CJR episode of care, and incentivizes increased coordination of care among hospitals, physicians and post-acute care providers, from a patient’s admission through recovery (90 days post-discharge).

CJR Collaborators

As part of its participation in the CJR model, The Valley Hospital has entered into financial sharing arrangements with CJR Collaborators – healthcare providers and group practices who share in share gains and losses with Valley, in compliance with CJR guidelines. Participation as a CJR Collaborator is voluntary.
