A Smoke-Free Campus

All of Valley Health System’s facilities, including The Valley Hospital, are smoke free. Smoking is not permitted on campus or on any surrounding walkways or sidewalks. Please be respectful of our neighbors and do not loiter or smoke in the neighborhood.

ATM

An ATM machine is located on the first floor of the Bergen building adjacent to the Surgical Waiting Area.

Cell Phone Usage

For the comfort and convenience of all our patients and guests, The Valley Hospital limits cell phone usage to designated areas:

  • Patient rooms
  • Any area outside of the hospital
  • The entrance vestibule at the end of the Phillips building
  • The vestibule next to the revolving doors at the hospital’s main entrance
  • By the ATM machine adjacent to the Bergen Surgical Waiting Area

Please respect the needs of others and only use texting capabilities in public areas.

Coffee Station

Valley Java is a gourmet coffee station located in the hallway between the Cheel and Bergen buildings, adjacent to the Bergen Surgical Waiting Area. It offers a selection of coffees and teas, juices, and baked goods. Valley Java is open Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon. For more information, call 201-447-8000, ext. 2880. 

Friendship Garden

The Friendship Garden can be seen outside the windows in the corridor that connects the Bergen and Phillips Building. You may visit the garden by exiting through the café or the main entrance. Personalized paver stones may be ordered to honor a special someone, in celebration of a birth, or in memory of someone special. Call 201-447-8064 or click here for more information. 

Guest Badges

All visitors to The Valley Hospital must wear a hospital-issued guest badge while in the hospital. Please stop by the reception desk in the main lobby when you arrive for a guest badge. 

Interfaith Chapel

A chapel for all faiths, operated by the Spiritual Care Department, is located on the first floor of the Bergen building. Visitors are welcome to visit the chapel for worship services, prayer and meditation. A Roman Catholic mass is held Monday through Saturday at 11 a.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Quiet Time

Quiet Time, designated between the hours of 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. every day, is observed to promote a restful healing environment for patients.  

Restrooms

Public restrooms are located in a variety of convenient locations throughout the hospital and are clearly marked. Please note that bathrooms in patient rooms are to be used by patients to meet their care needs.

Sabbath Elevator

A Sabbath elevator, located in the Cheel building of the hospital just off of the main lobby, runs continuously from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday, stopping on every floor as it ascends. It also operates in Sabbath mode on all major Jewish holidays.  

The Valley Hospital Auxiliary Art Gallery

Different exhibits are displayed monthly to showcase the talents of local artists. All artwork is offered for sale through the Gift Shop. All proceeds go to fund student scholarships.

Wireless Connectivity

Valley offers a free wireless connection to patients and their families. Please note that the connection is not secure and privacy cannot be protected. Any information being sent or received could potentially be intercepted by another wireless user. Wireless users should not transmit sensitive personal information (credit card numbers, passwords, etc.) while using this or any public wireless network.
