A personal guide to treatment: Your designated nurse navigator will streamline the process so time with your physician is spent in the most meaningful way. Your nurse navigator will let you know what to expect, help schedule follow-up appointments, provide education on available resources and quickly relay any questions or concerns you might have to the appropriate physician.
We know there’s no place like home: We have the expertise and technology to treat you — conveniently located where you are. Everyone from the front-desk staff to the nurses to the anesthesiologists is committed to providing a caring, home-like environment before and after surgery. And because most surgeries are minimally invasive outpatient procedures, you can be home and on your way to recovery quickly.
A sense of urgency: After a thyroid disease or parathyroid disease diagnosis, you don’t want to wait months to see a specialist. At Valley's Center for Thyroid and Parathyroid Care, we can typically schedule a patient within one week’s time or sooner, as needed.
High standards and high volumes: The Center for Thyroid and Parathyroid Care follows the latest guidelines issued by the American Thyroid Association, the AJCC, and the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons to provide gold-standard thyroid and parathyroid care. In addition, Valley’s endocrine surgeon performs between 200 and 300 thyroid and parathyroid surgeries a year. Research has shown that using a surgeon who performs a high volume of thyroid and parathyroid surgeries improves a patient’s outcomes and decreases complication rates.
High-tech with a gentle touch: We use the latest technology and methods, so procedures are as easy on you as possible. For instance, we use fine needle aspirations to find out whether thyroid nodules or lymph nodes are cancerous. We also use laryngeal nerve monitoring during neck procedures to evaluate the nerves going to your vocal cords and to ensure those nerves continue to function normally throughout and at the end of surgery. We also offer minimally invasive parathyroid surgery. During surgery, we're able to monitor your parathyroid hormone levels, which helps us ensure a successful surgery and outcomes.
