Valley’s Lipids and Cardiometabolic Disease Program provides comprehensive care to help prevent cardiovascular disease — including heart attack and stroke — through advanced therapies, personalized care plans, and coordinated support with your healthcare team.

What Is Cardiometabolic Disease?

Cardiometabolic disease refers to conditions that increase the risk of heart disease and stroke, including:

  • High blood pressure (hypertension)
  • High cholesterol (LDL, triglycerides, and lipoprotein(a))
  • Insulin resistance and diabetes
  • Obesity

Because lipids are key to heart health, our program focuses on identifying and treating conditions early to help patients live longer, healthier lives.

The Valley Approach to Lipids and Cardiometabolic Disease

Our program empowers patients to take proactive steps to reduce their risk for cardiovascular disease by providing comprehensive cardiovascular risk-factor assessments and coordinating care with primary care providers, cardiologists, and endocrinologists. Patients receive personalized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs, along with guidance on lifestyle modifications to support long-term heart health. In addition, we offer access to advanced therapies designed to effectively manage and prevent cardiac disease.

Valley’s Lipids & Cardiometabolic Disease Program is managed through The Knispel Center for Comprehensive Cardiomyopathy Care where our collaborative team of cardiologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, and specialists offers integrated care for patients with heart failure, pulmonary arterial hypertension, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Treatment Options

In addition to traditional medications, our program offers advanced therapies that support cardiovascular prevention, including RNA interference therapies. These treatments use synthetic RNA molecules to prevent the production of disease-causing proteins. RNA interference therapies can also significantly lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol with minimal side effects and no interference with other medications.
