Our Gynecologic Oncology team, which includes medical oncologists and radiation oncologists, specializes in treating all types of gynecologic cancers — including cervical cancer, uterine cancer and ovarian cancer.
Marie Welshinger, MD, FACOG, is Director of the Gynecologic Oncology program. She is board certified in gynecologic oncology as well as obstetrics and gynecology. She is also a talented surgeon, skilled in minimally invasive techniques including robotic surgery.
Dr. Welshinger believes in a holistic, team-oriented approach to care. In addition to delivering the best possible care for each of her patients, Dr. Welshinger makes it a priority to get to know her patients on a personal level and help them address their overall health.
Before joining Valley, Dr. Welshinger was Director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. Following her fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, she practiced at the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center (part of Atlantic Health System) in Morristown, N.J., and subsequently was the Director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at New York Hospital Queens.
Dr. Welshinger sees patients at the Robert and Audrey Luckow Pavilion in Paramus.
Nicole Vilardo, MD, is board certified in gynecology and obstetrics and has been published in numerous publications, as well as participated in extensive research in the field of gynecologic cancer.
Dr. Vilardo specializes in gynecologic malignancies, including ovarian, cervical, and uterine and vulvovaginal cancers; pelvic masses; and complex gynecologic surgery, including both open and minimally invasive approaches. She believes in a multifaceted approach to patient care in order to address all aspects of a diagnosis and provide patients with compassionate care and the best quality of life possible.
Before joining Valley, Dr. Vilardo completed a gynecologic oncology fellowship at the Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She received her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical school and completed her OB/GYN residency at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Eleonora Teplinsky, MD, is Head of Breast and Gynecologic Medical Oncology at Valley-Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care. A board-certified medical oncologist, Dr. Teplinsky treats women with breast and gynecologic cancers with a special interest in young women with cancer. She is actively involved in leading clinical trials and conducting clinical research focusing on drug development and novel therapeutics. Dr. Teplinsky received her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. She completed a fellowship in internal medicine at Tufts New England Medical Center and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at New York University Medical Center. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Amanda Podolski, MD, is a board certified hematologist/oncologist specializing in breast and gynecologic malignancies (including ovarian, uterine, cervical, and vulvovaginal cancers). She practices evidence based medicine and is actively involved in clinical trials at Valley Mount Sinai Cancer Center. She works hard to provide an individualized approach to each patient and ensure that all their medical needs are addressed.
Dr. Podolski received her medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in 2014. She completed her residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia Pennsylvania in 2017. She then completed her fellowship in hematology/ oncology at Montefiore Medical Center in 2020, where she also served as chief fellow.
Michael Wesson, MD, is Co-Medical Director of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Valley-Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care. He is a board-certified radiation oncologist with over 25 years of experience. Dr. Wesson received his medical degree from University of Virginia’s School of Medicine. He conducted his residency training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he was also chief resident. Following his training, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology, initially at Memorial Sloan-Kettering and then at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Alice Nagy, APN, is a board-certified advanced practice nurse who is skilled in chemotherapy and biotherapy protocols as well as infusion medications. She has over 25 years of experience as a nationally certified oncology nurse as well as formal education in holistic nursing.
Alice coordinates the care of patients with interdisciplinary collaborators as well as provides survivorship plans to patients and more. She is there with the patient every step of the way.
Alice received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Seton Hall University.
