Valley Health System, in partnership with Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital, is pleased to welcome Laura Conrad, DO, as Director of the Pediatric Asthma Care Program for Valley Medical Group. Dr. Conrad is now seeing patients at 140 East Ridgewood Avenue in Paramus.
Valley’s Pediatric Asthma Care Program helps children diagnosed with asthma manage their condition by utilizing the latest guidelines, medications, and therapies. Together with our care team, the patient and their caregivers develop a personalized treatment plan. The program also offers education, helping children and their caregivers understand their condition, asthma triggers, treatment plans, and techniques to control symptoms.
Dr. Conrad is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric pulmonology. While she treats all aspects of pediatric pulmonary disease, her area of expertise is in asthma, particularly severe pediatric asthma. Dr. Conrad works together with patients and families to use the latest guidelines to develop personalized asthma management plans. She also has expertise in conducting pediatric flexible bronchoscopy procedures.
Prior to her appointment at Valley, Dr. Conrad served as Director of the Pediatric Asthma Center and Director of the Pediatric Pulmonary Function Laboratory at The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx, New York.
“I chose pediatric pulmonary medicine because of my passion for helping children to breathe easier,” said Dr. Conrad. “As a parent, I understand the stress and sleepless nights that come with having a sick child. I will always listen to a parent or caregiver’s concerns and work with them as a team to provide personalized care for their child, which will allow for improved quality of life for the patient and family.”
Dr. Conrad obtained her medical degree from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York. She completed a residency in pediatrics at The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. She also completed a fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York.
