Valley is aware of the nationwide supply disruption of IV fluid solution due to Hurricane Helene, and wants to reassure the community that steps have been taken to ensure the situation will have no negative impact on our patients and the community.
Valley’s Center for Pediatric Wellness and Weight Management provides comprehensive medical and behavioral healthcare, nutrition services, and family support to help overweight and obese children and teenagers lose weight, improve their health, and reduce their risk of developing chronic illnesses.
Healthy LifeWays is a personalized, 12-week program that helps obese children and adolescents reach a healthy weight and reduce their risk of serious chronic illnesses. Instead of promoting dieting, the program encourages patients to develop healthy habits and feel good about themselves. Our team teaches children and adolescents to look at food differently, with a focus on quality, not quantity.
Healthy LifeWays starts with a medical evaluation, a psychological/behavioral evaluation and a nutrition evaluation and counseling. Our team also uses sophisticated 3D body scanning to show the changes in a patient's body shape and dimensions as their body responds to the program.

Each week, patients see our physician or other staff as needed. Patients are encouraged to participate in supervised exercise activities at a gym of their choice. Cooking classes and support groups for patients and their parents are also available.
Healthy LifeWays program provides maintenance and support for children and adolescents who have a body mass index at or above the 95th percentile for their age. Children who are at or above the 85th percentile and have an associated medical risk or family history of chronic disease, such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, or obstructive sleep apnea, can also join this program.
