Eric Lazar, MD

Eric Lazar, MD

Chair, Surgical Services, Valley Medical Group

Dr. Lazar is the Chair of Surgical Services for Valley Medical Group and Program Director of the General Surgery Residency Program at Valley. He is a board-certified pediatric surgeon who joined Valley in 2023. He is the former President of the New Jersey Chapter of the American College of Surgeons and is currently on the Board of Governors for the American College of Surgeons.

He received his medical degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University in New York. He completed his residency in general surgery from New York University and fellowships in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation at Columbia University and pediatric surgery at Children’s Hospital of New York. 

Dr. Lazar treats all general, oncologic, and thoracic surgical conditions that occur in children from aged newborn to 21 years old. He works closely with pediatricians and specialists to treat patients with complex conditions using a team approach. Dr. Lazar has been a teacher of surgery and a pediatric surgeon for almost 30 years and has written multiple articles and book chapters establishing expertise in a wide variety of pediatric conditions. 

Linda Li, MD

Pediatric Surgeon

Dr. Li is a board-certified pediatric surgeon who joined both The Valley Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital in 2023. She is also an Assistant Professor in Pediatric Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. 

Dr. Li received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Texas. She completed her residency in general surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, and fellowships in research at the Houston Veteran Affair’s Health Services Research and Development Center of Excellence in Texas and in pediatric surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Columbia University in New York.

Dr. Li provides a breadth of pediatric surgical care for children aged newborn to 18 years old. She has a clinical interest in congenital colorectal conditions. Dr. Li values keeping families well informed during their child’s procedures and clearly communicating associated risks, while also listening to what families think is the best course of action for their child. 

Khadijah Walker, MSN, RN, FNP-BC

Khadijah Walker, MSN, RN, FNP-BC

Nurse Practitioner

Khadijah is a board-certified registered nurse who received her nursing degrees from Chamberlain College of Nursing in New Jersey and College of Mount Saint Vincent in New York. In her role, she consults with patients, rounds on admitted patients, and assists with bedside and operating room procedures. She values developing a relationship of trust with patients and their families before surgery. Khadijah’s highest priority is executing the delivery of safe patient care.
