HG Americas 250 Best Hospitals

For the fourth consecutive year, The Valley Hospital has achieved the Healthgrades 2022 America’s 250 Best Hospitals Award.™ This distinction places Valley in the top 5 percent of the nearly 4,500 hospitals assessed nationwide for superior clinical performance by Healthgrades. Valley is one of only five hospitals in New Jersey to be recognized with the 2022 America’s 250 Best Hospitals Award, and the only hospital in Bergen, Passaic, and Hudson counties to receive the distinction.

“We are honored to be recognized once again as one of America’s 250 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades,” said Audrey Meyers, President and CEO, Valley Health System. “This prestigious award for clinical outcomes demonstrates the priority we place on delivering the highest-quality care and service to our patients and their families.”

Recipients of this award are recognized for overall clinical excellence across a broad spectrum of care. From 2018-2020, patients treated in hospitals achieving this Healthgrades recognition on average had a 27.8 percent lower risk of dying than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive this award, as measured across 17 rated conditions and procedures where mortality is the outcome.

“It is a great achievement to be awarded as one of Healthgrades’ America’s 250 Best Hospitals,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer and Head of Data Science at Healthgrades. “Now more than ever, patients are learning the importance of taking control of their health and using resources like Healthgrades to find the perfect hospital and caregiver match. We commend The Valley Hospital for providing superior service and committing themselves to keeping their communities safe.”

Valley has also been recognized by Healthgrades with the 2022 America’s 100 Best Hospitals Awards in the areas of Stroke Care, Gastrointestinal Surgery, and Gastrointestinal Care; as well as Excellence Awards for Neurosciences, Cranial Neurosurgery, Stroke Care, Gastrointestinal Care, and Gastrointestinal Surgery.
