The Valley Hospital is pleased to announce that its Center for Childbirth has reached a new milestone, delivering 4,000 newborns in a single year. On December 28, 2022, Valley’s care team welcomed Dafnne, the 4,000th baby, and daughter of Julio Carpio Huanca and Evelyn Joshua Tejada Rivera of Paterson.
“Our physicians, nurses, and staff have displayed tremendous clinical skill and patient care as they have assisted in the delivery of a record number of babies,” said Margaret Pogorelec, DNP, RN, CEN, NE-BC, HN-BC, Assistant Vice President of Women’s, Children’s and Emergency Services at The Valley Hospital. “We thank them for all they have done during this record-setting year, and we thank all those who chose to welcome their newest family member at Valley.”
In 71 years of operation, The Valley Hospital has never welcomed more babies into the world in a single year.
“This is an amazing milestone for Valley, and we look forward to continuing to welcome Valley’s smallest patients in 2023 and years to come, particularly as we look to open our new hospital in Paramus,” said Maira de Leon, MSN, RNC-OB, c-EFM, Director of Inpatient Women’s and Children’s Services at The Valley Hospital.
