Congratulations to Simon Tsiouris, MD, MPH, who has been selected as a finalist for NJBIZ’s annual Physician Health Care Hero Award.
Dr. Tsiouris was selected for his role in leading Valley Health System’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Tsiouris served on every COVID-19 committee at Valley and led every clinical initiative, including:
- Testing staff for antibodies
- Establishing testing facilities
- The development of Valley’s vaccine centers
Dr. Tsiouris also was an invaluable COVID-19 resource both within and outside the Valley community, filming educational videos, answering staff members’ questions, giving community presentations, and participating in media interviews.
“Dr. Tsiouris is and remains the resource that all members of leadership and hundreds of members of the staff continue to turn to for advice and clarification,” said Audrey Meyers, President and CEO of The Valley Hospital and Valley Health System. “Throughout he has served Valley with humility, compassion, and great skill.”
