Robin Iversen, MD
Dr. Iversen is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and has been a member of Valley Pain Management since 2004. She uses an interdisciplinary approach to treat pain to help patients experience improved function and lead more fulfilled lives. She treats many conditions including back and neck pain, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, chemotherapy-induced neuropathy, CPRS, and more. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas in Houston Medical School and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Her interest in addiction led her to become the Director of the Addiction Treatment Unit at Bergen Regional Medical Center, which directed her attention to pain management. Dr. Iversen also holds a New Jersey Physician Acupuncture Certificate and is the Medical Director of Valley Hospice.
Fani Thomson, DO
Dr. Thomson is a board-certified interventional Pain Management physician who has been at Valley since 2008. She helps patients relieve their pain, recover from injury, and get back to their normal lifestyles. She has been dedicating her practice to the non-surgical treatment of painful conditions, including neck and back pain, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, arthritis, and other painful conditions. Dr. Thomson’s integrative, multi-disciplinary approach begins with establishing the correct diagnosis by obtaining a thorough history and physical examination and may include multiple modalities to help treat pain. She received her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a residency and Interventional Spine fellowship at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in NYC.
Nicole Matar, MD
Dr. Matar joined Valley in 2021 and focuses on interventional pain management, including but not limited to cancer pain, chronic pain syndromes, and perioperative pain. She also specializes in procedures performed with fluoroscopic or ultrasound guidance. She believes in a patient-first philosophy of care that focuses on safety, quality, and the best clinical outcome. Dr. Matar received her medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She completed a residency in Anesthesiology and a fellowship in Pain Management at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Matar also completed an additional fellowship in Pain Management at Columbia University Medical Center.
Stacey Shetty, APN
Stacey is a board-certified advanced practice nurse who has been at Valley for over 25 years. She helps patients with chronic pain, cancer-related pain, and back pain. Her goal is to develop a mutually trusting relationship with her patients and understand how pain impacts their life. Together, they can then formulate a safe and effective plan that will manage their pain. Stacey received her degree from Ramapo College of New Jersey.
