CAPC Tipping Point Challenge

The Valley Hospital is proud to announce it is a winner in the Clinical Training category of the Center to Advance Palliative Care’s third John A. Hartford Foundation Tipping Point Challenge. To achieve this award, Valley completed the most Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) courses amongst the Large Hospitals category during the competition year.

The John A. Hartford Foundation Tipping Point Challenge is a national competition designed to catalyze the spread of skills and improve healthcare delivery for all people living with a serious illness. In the Clinical Training category, more than 1,700 organizations competed to achieve the greatest number of CAPC course completions within the timeframe of the competition, and/or since becoming a member organization.

This past year, Valley’s staff across the organization completed a significant number of CAPC courses, enhancing the clinical skills that are needed to improve the care of people living with a serious illness.

“Winning the Tipping Point Challenge is a remarkable achievement for our team,” said Yusimi Sobrino-Bonilla, APN, Clinical Supervisor of Palliative Care Services for Valley Health System.

“The level of engagement was phenomenal, with employees across all departments participating and increasing their palliative care knowledge. We are very proud of this accomplishment!”
