An Educational and Support Group Inspired by the American Heart Association and the American College of lifestyle medicine.
Join us for the Heart Smart Lunch Series, a welcoming and informative program designed to empower individuals with knowledge and tools to lead heart-healthy lives. Rooted in the American Heart Association’s (AHA) guidelines for heart healthy living, this series offers a blend of expert-led education, peer support, and practical lifestyle tips—all served up during your lunch break. Those attending in person will partake in a heart healthy lunch, those attending virtually will use TEAMS platform.
Initially known as the Deborah Johnson cardiac support group each session of the Heart Smart lunch series focuses on a key aspect of cardiovascular wellness, nutrition, physical activity, stress management, sleep, social connection, optimal cholesterol, blood pressure, BMI and avoidance of toxic substances. Participants will engage in open discussions, share experiences, and enjoy heart-healthy lunch options while learning realistic strategies for lasting change.
What to Expect:
• Interactive workshops led by healthcare professionals
• Evidence-based information on heart health and disease prevention;
• Peer support and motivation from others on a similar wellness journey; and,
• Healthy lunch and recipe ideas that align with AHA recommendations and the American College
of lifestyle medicine.
