Children who have been diagnosed with Down syndrome require care that addresses their specific developmental, educational and medical issues. The pediatric subspecialists at the Kireker Center for Child Development and Valley Medical group are available to make sure your child receives appropriate care.
If your child has a diagnosis of Down syndrome and you would like to arrange for a comprehensive evaluation by a developmental pediatrician to review developmental, educational, and medical issues, as well as identify community resources that may be available, please contact our intake department in order to schedule an appointment: 201-447-8151.
In addition to medical evaluations, our center provides speech/language, feeding, occupational and physical therapies; audiology; social work support; and a parent group.
The Down Syndrome Family Network offers a safe and positive environment for children to play while parents and caregivers participate in discussions about their successes and challenges. Engage with peers on topics such as milestones and advocacy for your child. Siblings welcome. For information on dates, times and location, please call 201-447-8278.
If your child requires additional evaluations or treatment for medical conditions that are often associated with Down syndrome, we can refer your child to other Valley specialists, including endocrinologists, sleep specialists, gastroenterologists, and pulmonologists.
