With the addition of pediatric endocrinology services at Valley, pediatric patients and their families no longer need to travel great distances for this form of specialized care.
Pediatric endocrinology deals with endocrine-related conditions in children, including type 1 and type 2 diabetes, growth disorders, obesity, thyroid and adrenal problems, problems of puberty, hypoglycemia, pituitary disorders, calcium and bone metabolism disorders, intersex disorders, menstrual disorders, endocrine tumors, and other conditions related to hormones.
Services are provided by Paul Pelavin, M.D., and Ting-Wen A. Lee, M.D., at 579 Franklin Turnpike in Ridgewood. These doctors are joined by Rachel Devine, R.N., M.S.N., C.P.N.P., a pediatric nurse practitioner.
The Valley Hospital offers a wide array of women's and children's services, including The Center for Childbirth, The Fertility Center, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, The Center for Family Education, Pediatrics, and The Kireker Center for Child Development. Maternal and Child Health services are provided in the home by Valley Home Care.
