Steven Kanengiser, M.D., Director of Pediatric Pulmonology

Steven Kanengiser, M.D., is Director of Pediatric Pulmonology in the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Kanengiser, assisted by Pam Gaffney, Coordinator of Pediatric Pulmonology, directs the Pediatric Pulmonology Service. Dr. Kanengiser has been practicing in northern New Jersey since 1994. He was previously affiliated with St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Paterson. He completed his medical education at the University of California-San Francisco School of Medicine. He completed his Residency in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital in Boston, a Fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center, and a Fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology at Westchester County Medical Center. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics, with Special Qualifications in Pediatric Pulmonology. In addition to his responsibilities at The Valley Hospital, Dr. Kanengiser is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the division of Pediatric Pulmonology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Kanengiser is well known in the field of Pediatric Pulmonology, offering medical assistance and treatment to thousands of area children who suffer from respiratory problems of all types, including recurrent respiratory distress, recurrent coughing, and asthma.
