The Valley Hospital will host a free community health program, The Flip Flops of Foot Health, on Thursday, March 2 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at The Valley Hospital Conference Center, 223 North Van Dien Avenue, Ridgewood.
We are on our feet a lot. Did you know that the average person takes about 7,500 steps a day? Getting moving in an important part of maintaining good health and every stride counts. Whether walking or more vigorous exercise, moving your feet regularly can boost your energy, reduce your risk of heart disease, improve your strength and more. Studies have even shown that physical activity has a positive effect on our happiness and emotional well-being.
However, problems with our feet or ankles can cause serious discomfort and leave us at a standstill. Put some spring in your step and join us to learn more about common foot and ankle maladies and new ways to treat them.
Dr. Andrew Brief, a board certified orthopedic surgeon, will help you put your best foot forward by sharing the latest techniques for treating foot and ankle injuries and conditions.
Dr. Brief completed his fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. He did his orthopedic internship and residency training at the NYU-Hospital for Joint Diseases. Dr. Brief attended medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY and graduated college from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
