October 29, 2013 -- Neonatologist Carmela Pané, M.D., has accepted the position of Director of Neonatology at The Valley Hospital. Dr. Pane’ succeeds Frank Manginello, M.D., who serves as Chair of Children’s Services for Valley Medical Group and Medical Director of the Kireker Center for Child Development.
Dr. Pané received a Master of Science degree in genetics from Rutgers University, and her medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine. She completed both her residency and fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Pané is board certified in Neonatal- Perinatal Medicine.
Dr. Pané joined The Valley Hospital Medical Staff as a neonatologist more than 20 years ago, and became Associate Director of Neonatology in 1997. In her new role as Director, Dr. Pané oversees the care of patients in Valley’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), along with four associates. She also developed and currently runs a Chronic Lung Disease Program where infants with chronic illnesses and oxygen dependence are managed. Dr. Pané resides in Woodcliff Lake, NJ.
