Sue Kelly, President of The Valley Hospital Auxiliary, recently presented Audrey Meyers, President and CEO of The Valley Hospital and Valley Health System, with a check for $54,000, representing the Auxiliary’s final payment on its extraordinary $2 million pledge.
Through tireless efforts on behalf of The Valley Hospital and Valley Home Care, the Auxiliary completed an historic $2 million commitment in only three and a half years. The Auxilians’ hard work directly resulted in the development of a new women’s health unit, the purchase of a 64-slice CT scanner, and the expansion of Valley’s inpatient pediatric suite. In addition, the pledge supported Valley Home Care’s Butterflies Pediatric Palliative Care program and Valley’s Hospitalists program.
“Thanks to the generosity of the Auxilians, Valley has been able to provide state-of-the-art equipment and much needed programs to our patients,” said Anastasios Kozaitis, President of The Valley Hospital Foundation. “I thank you for your continued support and your unwavering dedication to our patients!”
The Central Board of The Valley Hospital Auxiliary immediately followed the check presentation with the announcement of a new $500,000 pledge for 2010 to benefit The Valley Hospital’s Center for Women’s Heart Health.
