Using the latest diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and techniques, Valley's staff of licensed therapists help individuals learn and develop skills necessary to overcome disability or recover from a medical illness and/or procedure. The department's rehabilitation therapists are highly skilled in their clinical field and offer a warm, personal touch. All care at Valley is delivered by Licensed Therapists.
The Rehabilitation Department pays special attention to the patient's family. Loved ones are instructed on the therapies that patients undergo and are encouraged to assist the patient in the home environment. Through education, family members become valuable partners in the patient's rehabilitation.
The Department is comprised of three disciplines: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology. Physiatrists, physicians specializing in Rehabilitation Medicine, are on staff and provide direct care to patients when indicated.
Each patient has unique healthcare needs and a personalized treatment plan is created to specifically address the distinct needs of the individual after a comprehensive evaluation is performed. If the patient requires the services of more than one form of therapy, professionals work together to develop the treatment plan and goals that will assist the patient in achieving a return to maximum function.
Therapists maintain close contact with each patient's physician to keep the doctor updated on the patient's progress.
