Our goal is to make sure that you have the information, education, and support you need to create your own personalized birth plan that outlines the decisions you have made regarding the birth process. We want you to feel comfortable and prepared to bring your little one home. To help you get started, we offer our Smart Start program. It's a great way to get a Smart Start on family education!

Valley's Holistic Birth Coordinator will meet with you personally to discuss and gently guide your pregnancy decisions. We like to see new mothers-to-be when they are 28 weeks pregnant. Please call201-447-8488 a few weeks prior to set up your first appointment.
You may mix and match among the following classes. Classes are ongoing with the exception of holidays.
Prenatal Yoga: Through yoga, a woman can prepare physically, mentally and emotionally for giving birth and becoming a mother. Moms-to-be are led through a wide range of poses adapted to the ever-changing pregnant body, preparing her for labor and motherhood, as well as helping to alleviate some of the discomforts of pregnancy. Yoga helps a woman tap into her inner wisdom which is her best guide through pregnancy, birth and motherhood. Classes are held at Destination Maternity (35 Rt.4W, Paramus, NJ) on Tuesdays 10:30-11:30am and 7:30-8:30pm, Thursdays 10:30-11:30am and 6-7pm and Saturdays 10:30-11:30 am.
Women’s Health Yoga: Practice the science and art of self-illumination through yoga. This yoga class addresses the specific needs of a woman’s physiology and can promote your physical, mental, and spiritual health. For non-pregnant women of all ages. Classes are held at Destination Maternity (35 Rt.4W, Paramus, NJ) on Thursdays 7:30-8:30pm.
Baby & Me Yoga: This is a yoga class for mothers and their babies, ages 6 weeks to 1 year, which is both challenging and relaxing. It addresses postpartum conditions such as back strain, weak abdominal wall and pelvic floor, tight shoulders, sleeplessness and stress. It helps women regain strength, as well as adapt and grow in their new role as mother. It is an opportunity to nourish that profound bond with baby. A sense of community in this class allows moms to discuss any concerns or share information and ideas on parenting in a nurturing environment. A certified yoga instructor facilitates this class. You must bring your baby to class. Classes are held at Destination Maternity (35 Rt.4W, Paramus, NJ) on Mondays 12:00-1:00pm and Wednesdays 12:00-1:00pm.
Toddler Yoga: Using yoga poses, this amusing and active class encourages your toddler’s explorations of the environment around them, all while having you by their side. Lay the foundation for a healthy lifestyle and have fun together. You must bring your baby to class. Classes are held at Destination Maternity (35 Rt.4W, Paramus, NJ) on Mondays 10:30-11:30am.
Prenatal Pilates: Stay fit through your pregnancy and safely prepare your “core” for your baby’s birth. Learn to breathe with your movements which will assist you during labor. Strengthen the deepest abdominal muscles and pelvis floor to support your growing baby, help with labor and delivery, and prevent diastasis. Proper stretching techniques will be taught to help counter the bodily changes taking place during pregnancy. Prenatal Pilates is designed to promote good posture and spinal alignment while focusing on stability and balance. Proper modifications to accommodate all stages of pregnancy and fitness levels will be followed. Classes are held at Destination Maternity (35 Rt.4W, Paramus, NJ) on Wednesdays 7:30-8:30pm.
Postnatal Pilates: Reclaim your pre-pregnancy posture and rebuild your stamina. We will use a variety of props – resistance bands, foam rollers, magic circles, balls – to assist you with reconnecting your movements and give you a challenging workout. This class is appropriate for moms six weeks to several years after childbirth. Exercises are modified to meet individual needs and fitness levels. Non-mobile babies are welcome. Classes are held at Destination Maternity (35 Rt. 4W, Paramus, NJ) on Tuesdays 1:00-2:00pm.
PeeWee Pilates: Pilates is the best way to regain core strength, pelvis floor control, and get rid of your post-pregnancy tummy! Learn to reconnect with yourself and with other moms. Besides strengthening the abdominals in a safe manner, we will also focus on the upper body – strengthening and stretching – to help with all the heavy lifting and counteract all of the bending forward we do as moms. Learn restorative stretches to relieve lower back and neck issues associated with motherhood. Bring a blanket or boppy pillow for baby. You must bring your baby to class. Classes are held at Destination Maternity (35 Rt. 4W, Paramus, NJ) on Fridays 10:30-11:30am.
