We begin by learning about you. During your initial visit your physician will complete a full assessment. This will include a thorough medical history, a physical exam, any alternative/complimentary therapies, a genetic questionnaire and emotional and psychological needs. Your physician will prescribe a series of tests for both you and your partner as part of a diagnostic workup.
For both partners, infectious disease tests will be done. For the female partner, additional blood work may include, but is not limited to, blood type and Rh, thyroid and prolactin levels, and immunity testing for German Measles (Rubella) and Chicken Pox (Varicella). You will be notified of any abnormal results and receive instructions based on test results.
Based on your answers in the genetic questionnaire one or both partners may have genetic testing done.
Females will need an updated pap smear and a mammogram if 35 years or older. If these tests have been done within one year with another physician, patients may have the results forwarded to our office.
