Choosing to undergo infertility treatment is a highly personal decision. The only bigger decision, perhaps, is which program to choose. At The Valley Hospital Fertility Center, Ali Nasseri, M.D., Ph.D., Medical Director; Dehan Chen, M.D., Associate Clinical Director; and Sheeva Talebian, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., understand the emotional and psychological concerns of couples seeking infertility treatment. Our medical and nursing staff possess not only the medical expertise responsible for superior success rates, but the caring and compassionate approach that leads many patients to recommend the program to family members and friends.

Sheeva Talebian, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., recently appointed to the medical staff of The Valley Hospital Fertility Center, is drawn to the emotional aspect of guiding couples in their path to achieve fertility. “It’s tough, but there’s always hope,” says Dr. Talebian. “Conception is possible.”
“Being able to interact with couples in such an intimate setting is one of the most rewarding aspects of my field,” says Dr. Talebian, who is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. “Because of new advances in the field of fertility, couples can feel optimistic despite this being such a difficult time in their lives.”
The Valley Hospital Fertility Center is led by board certified physicians who specialize in diagnosing and treating infertility. Together with a team of registered nurse coordinators, laboratory technicians, financial counselors and support staff, the Center offers cutting edge procedures, including ovarian stimulation, surgical treatment, and assisted reproductive technologies, such as in vitro fertilization. Dr. Talebian’s areas of specialization include ovarian reserve testing, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, and aneuploidy screening, among others.
Dr. Talebian chose to come to Valley for two reasons – the skilled physicians and the advanced fertility lab. “Not only is Valley affiliated with the New York University Fertility Center to feature a state-of-the-art embryology lab, I am working alongside world-renowned physicians who truly care about their patients,” says Dr. Talebian.
Dr. Talebian completed her undergraduate studies at Columbia University, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and received her medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. She completed her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the New York University School of Medicine/Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident. Dr. Talebian went on to complete a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the New York University School of Medicine.
Dr. Talebian is the recipient of several accolades, including the Medical Student Outstanding Teaching Resident Award, the AAGL Excellence in Laparoscopic Surgery Award, and the Medical Student Outstanding Fellow Teaching Award in 2003, 2005 and 2006 respectively. She was also awarded the prize presentation at the 30th Annual NY Perinatal Society Scientific Meeting for her research on pre-implantation genetic diagnosis at the NYU Fertility Center.
Aside from participating in several research grants, abstracts, presentations and lectures, Dr. Talebian has volunteered her time to author a teenage reproductive health web site (www.mybodyandme.org). Outside of work, she is an avid runner, and enjoys spending time with her husband, 3-year-old daughter, and friends.
