Strong experience in cardiac prevention, stroke evaluation and prevention, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, coronary artery disease.
What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?
Having received top notch training in New York City, I entered private practice as a cardiologist ready to save lives in any way possible. But, after a few years into my practice of cardiology, I realized that when the patient continues to return to the office stressed out, smoking, overweight, not exercising and despite controlled labs and the like, they were heading for the second cardiac event. Very early on, it became obvious to me that unless emotional factors are carefully addressed along with the high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc., the patient will never really be healed, and will never be all right. Having trained with one of the founders of behavioral cardiology, it became natural to combine my formal education with my clinical experience and develop my own brand of healing, which is a thorough integration of a patient's psychological factors and their relationship to the medical condition. Despite the constraints of time and productivity in the current health care climate, I maintain my approach and form strong, healthy relationships with my patients solely for the purpose of healing and facilitating growth toward the individual's maximum potential.
What inspired you to become a doctor?
I was always good in math and science as a young student, and with a calling that is centered around love and fascination with human beings, it turned out to be a wonderful fit!
