What are some of the specific conditions you treat?
The full spectrum of pediatric critical illnesses from birth to age 21, including but not limited to, respiratory conditions, cardiac issues, systemic infections, trauma, and metabolic/endocrine disturbances.
What techniques or procedures do you use in your practice?
Invasive and non-invasive mechanical respiratory support, central venous and arterial catheterization, lumbar puncture, thora- and para- centesis, multi-modality monitoring and support.
Medical and surgical subspecialty care is provided in our Pediatric ICU under the supervision and coordination of the Pediatric Intensivist.
What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?
In our PICU, we treat the whole family along with the patient. We coordinate complex care but also provide the frontline face of our services in a way that offers maximal support to children and families in a time of crisis.
