Get to Know Me
What are some of the specific conditions you treat?
Some of the specific conditions I treat include heart failure, atrial fibrillation, hypertension, diabetes, as well as the management of care for general cardiology issues.
What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?
I take great care to provide gold-standard, evidence-based care for each individual patient. I assist each patient and their family members to understand their disease entity, the plan of care, medications, devices, and treatments that are available to provide symptom relief. The care remains patient-centered throughout each visit, continually updated, dependent on the patient's current symptoms and condition. Questions and concerns by patients, family members, and caregivers are addressed at each visit.
What inspired you to become a doctor?
Nursing was the original goal. I had been a bedside CCU/CICU nurse for decades. The ICU background paved the transition to Advanced Practice. The bedside education honed personal interactions and assessment skills; the advanced education provided the opportunity to become a provider of high-level quality Cardiac Care. I have the best of both these worlds being able to offer personalized care and full access to other treatment modalities. My belief is that patient and patient interactions are the key to unlocking the plans proposed for symptom relief.
