Say Goodbye to Sciatica Pain on April 3

The Valley Hospital will host a free community health program, A Pain in the Sciatic Nerve, on Tuesday, April 3 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at The Dorothy B. Kraft Center, 15 Essex Road, Paramus.

If you have ever experienced a shooting pain down your leg, you know that sciatica can make it hard to get out of bed, drive a car or go about your day. What you may not know is that sciatica is typically caused by an underlying issue in the hips, back or buttocks. Common among those in their 40s and 50s, sciatica occurs when the sciatic nerve – the largest and longest nerve in the body – becomes inflamed, irritated or compressed.
Hear from neurosurgeon Michael Kaiser, M.D. to learn about what causes sciatic nerve pain and the range of treatment options available to relieve it. Fortunately, most cases respond well to nonsurgical treatment.

What:  A Pain in the Sciatic Nerve

Who: Michael Kaiser, M.D., Neurosurgeon

When:  Tuesday, April 3 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Where: The Dorothy B. Kraft Center, 15 Essex Road, Paramus

There is NO FEE to attend this program but registration is required. For more information or to register, please call 1-800-VALLEY 1 (1-800-825-5391) or visit
