The Valley Hospital has achieved the Healthgrades 2019HG Americas 250 Best Award Image 2019 America’s 250 Best Hospitals Award™, placing Valley in the top 5 percent of more than 4,500 hospitals assessed nationwide for superior clinical performance by Healthgrades. Valley is one of only four hospitals in New Jersey to be recognized with the 2019 America’s 250 Best Hospital Award, and the only hospital in Bergen, Passaic, Essex or Hudson counties to receive the distinction.

“We are honored to be recognized as one of America’s 250 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades,” said Audrey Meyers, President and CEO, The Valley Hospital and Valley Health System. “Providing the highest-quality care and service to our patients and families is Valley’s top priority.”

Recipients of the Healthgrades America’s 250 Best Hospitals Award are recognized for overall clinical excellence across a broad spectrum of care. Hospitals that qualified for this award showed superior performance in clinical outcomes for patients in the Medicare population across at least 21 of 32 most common inpatient conditions and procedures as measured by Healthgrades by objective performance data (risk-adjusted mortality and in-hospital complications) during the 2019 study period (2015 through 2017).

“The Healthgrades America’s 250 Best Hospital Award is a tool that consumers can use to identify the best hospitals for their care needs,” said Brad Bowman, Chief Medical Officer, Healthgrades. “We commend recipient hospitals for showing their dedication to patients by delivering exceptional clinical outcomes.”

In 2019, Valley Hospital has also been recognized by Healthgrades with the America’s 100 Best Hospitals Awards in the areas of Stroke Care, General Surgery and Gastrointestinal Care; as well as the Excellence Awards for Neurosciences, Cranial Neurosurgery, Stroke Care, Gastrointestinal Care, General Surgery and Critical Care. Valley has also been the only hospital in Bergen County to receive the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award for four consecutive years (2015-2018), which is awarded mid-year.
