DEA Outreach Coordinator Rich Grosfelt will be conducting a Fentanyl Update
presentation which is designed to create an awareness and understanding of
today’s dangerous fentanyl situation. To be discussed will be the types/origins
of fentanyl; it’s role in drug overdose deaths; why the emergence of fentanyl;
fake prescription pills; and what part social media plays in fentanyl distribution.
Today’s marijuana (potency, concentrates and vaping), synthetic psychoactive
substances (K2, Spice, Bath Salts) and methamphetamine, will also be discussed.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
• Understand what part fentanyl is playing in overdose deaths and what constitutes a lethal dose
• Discuss the types and origins of fentanyl
• Learn how and why fentanyl is being made into fake prescription pills
• Recognize the role social media plays in the distribution of fentanyl
• Examine how today’s marijuana has evolved through its potency & concentrates
• Identify synthetic psychoactive substances
• Look at the reemergence of methamphetamine
