About Thalia Lopez
What are some of the specific conditions you treat?
Some of the specific conditions that I treat are heart failure, general cardiology issues, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac amyloidosis, sarcoidosis, and more.
What techniques or procedures do you use in your practice?
I mostly see patients who have implanted cardiac resynchronization devices, which are pacemakers/defibrillators that help the heart beat in a more synchronized pattern, thus improving heart failure symptoms. I am also involved with advanced heart failure devices that are now available at Valley and are implanted by our electrophysiology team, such as the breakthrough neuromodulation device (Barostim) and cardiac contractility modulation (CCM). At the office, I provide Barostim therapy for patients. My goal is to provide patients with the best heart failure management options that will improve their quality of life and heart function.
Describe some of your professional highlights.
I graduated summa cum laude and obtained both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Ramapo College of New Jersey. I worked in the coronary care unit (CCU) for five years at The Valley Hospital before taking on this role as an electrophysiology/heart failure nurse practitioner.
