What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?
Early in my training, I was taught the three A’s of medicine and I have centered my philosophy of medicine around these three principles. First, and perhaps most important is to be “Able”. Being able goes beyond merely knowing how to do a surgical procedure. It is a continual hunt for knowledge that empowers me as a surgeon to provide the most appropriate and up to date treatments to my patients. The second is to be “Available” illness doesn’t care that it’s 2AM on a Saturday and it’s my responsibility as a surgeon to treat those in need regardless of the time of day. And lastly “Affable” I take pride in breaking the long-held stereotype of the cold and impersonal surgeon and I strive to cultivate trusting relationships with my patients so we can take care of their needs together as a team
