About Pratibha Rao
What are some of the specific conditions you treat?
I exclusively practice medicine in a hospital/inpatient setting, from admitting patients in ER to seeing patients in hospital units, to discharging them to their homes or nursing facilities. I treat, in consultation with specialists and other team members, conditions related to cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and oncological illnesses among others.
What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?
I am passionate about inpatient medicine and have practiced this at The Valley Hospital since the summer of 2006. I believe in delivering high-quality medical care with compassion. I discuss options of care with my patients and encourage and welcome their input and participation in decision-making.
What inspired you to become a doctor?
My desire to ease suffering and use my skills towards lofty goals, my respect for the human connection, and my belief in the power of compassion in improving quality of life.
