I selected Dr. Pereira to be my primary care doctor based on patient comments primarily, also considering his educational background. I wanted a doctor who would LISTEN to me after years of not finding this quality in doctors located in [...]. I did not choose Dr. Pereira because of his affiliation with Valley Medical. He more than met the qualities I was seeking: He listened and responded fully allowing me to ask many questions. I told him I wanted to introduce myself fully as a person including aspects of my life that affect my well being, and we fully discussed my medical history. He suggested ways I could take better preventative care of myself and I agreed to pursue some important screenings. We even discussed safe anti-anxiety medications. I wrote him after the visit where he assured that one medication would be safe to take and would not change my personality or interfere with driving to say I would like to try it. He made me feel heard for the first time in many years. I would recommend him based on this first visit to anyone looking for the same kind of relationship with a doctor--and I know there are many. I look forward to this relationship which can only make my life and health better.
