What would you like your patients to know about your approach to care?
I follow a patient-centered care approach. I believe that it is crucial to maintain a good doctor-patient relationship through effective communication while at the same time minimizing utilization of diagnostic testing, hospitalizations, prescriptions and referrals.
Furthermore, given my education and training as not only a physician but an osteopathic physician, I take a wholesome approach to patient care. This means that I don't just focus on the symptoms, rather I look at the whole person, and all aspects of that person's life, when reaching a diagnosis and developing a treatment plan. As a D.O., I believe that all parts of the body work together and influence one another.
I also like to educate patients in preventing illness. Aside from following evidence-based medicine and practicing according to the latest science, I was also trained to promote the body’s natural tendency toward health and self-healing. So, I would also consider options to complement pharmaceuticals and surgery.
