What are some of the specific conditions you treat?

As a women's health nurse practitioner, some specific conditions I treat and help manage include abnormal vaginal bleeding, vaginitis, sexually transmitted infections, PCOS, and other common gynecological issues. I have special interests in adolescent gynecological counseling and contraceptive care management. For my obstetric patients, I provide prenatal care from a woman's first OB visit to her 6-week postpartum visit. I help my patients navigate through the various stages of pregnancy and work with them in developing an individualized birth plan.

What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?

I enjoy developing an equal partnership with my patients regarding their individualized care. I ensure my patients receive the continuity of care they deserve while creating long-lasting relationships. My aim is to provide women with a safe and nurturing environment that promotes open dialogue. It is extremely rewarding when a patient is comfortable putting her trust in me as her provider.

What inspired you to become a provider?

I was initially drawn to the medical field through the strong presence of nursing role models in my life. I first recognized my calling to serve women in need through volunteer opportunities such as interning at March of Dimes, serving as a doula-trained birth companion, and teaching reproductive health at a substance use clinic. Working as a Labor and Delivery nurse, I learned how to become a caregiver, decision-maker, communicator, teacher, and advocate for my patients. Over time, my desire to provide women with the most up-to-date and evidence-based care grew and I discovered my dream of working as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. At VMG OB/GYN, I have the opportunity to provide holistic reproductive care across the lifespan, ranging from adolescence to menopause. I collaborate with women in identifying their gynecologic and obstetric concerns, while adapting their plans to changing medical circumstances.
