Get to Know Me

Describe some of your professional highlights.

I am board certified in pediatrics and neonatology. I worked at NYU Langone Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital as a neonatologist from 2000-2007. I started Care Intensive Pediatrics in 2007 to care for NICU graduates in a comprehensive outpatient pediatric practice. I have also worked in urgent care, and currently in addition to working at Valley Hospital as a pediatric hospitalist, I am the pediatric provider at the Hackensack location of North Hudson Community Action Clinic.

What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?

My approach to care for patients is thorough, thoughtful and comprehensive. When a patient comes under my care whether it’s a newborn or a teenager I always do my very best to ensure optimal growth and development and overall health and well-being. I also try very hard to involve the parents and educate them in terms of what they can do to optimize their relationship with the child and their child’s future.

What inspired you to become a doctor?

I have always enjoyed helping people and feel a sense of satisfaction in doing so. I’ve always been fascinated by the birth process probably because my cat growing up had many litters which I got to see being born, being nursed, and growing. That impacted me tremendously. My mother also lost a child to leukemia when she was pregnant with me. I think I grew up feeling inspired to help families cope with loss and also help the medical field in any way I could.
