What are some of the specific conditions you treat?
Primary care; urgent care; preventative care; sports and minor injuries, including burns, cuts, fractures, and sprains; pediatric care for children of all ages.
What techniques or procedures do you use in your practice?
Physical examinations and treatment for acute and chronic illnesses, such as diabetes, asthma, and hypertension; women’s health services, including gynecologic well care and pap smears; preventive care, including immunizations, cardiovascular risk assessments, smoking cessation assistance, and screenings for cancer, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
Other testing provided on site includes influenza A and B testing, blood tests, urinalyses, electrocardiograms (EKGs), hemoccult tests, finger stick glucose tests, rapid strep tests, rapid influenza tests, and x-rays.
Describe some of your professional highlights.
Dr. Stankiewicz practices in Rochelle Park. She received her doctor of medicine degree from the University of St. Eustatius School of Medicine in the Netherland Antilles. She completed her family medicine residency at the Mountainside Hospital Family Practice Residency Program in Montclair, NJ. Dr. Stankiewicz is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and is a certified smoking cessation counselor. She reads, writes, and speaks fluent Polish.
I enjoy developing close relationships with my patients and being able to understand their physical, emotional, and environmental needs. I find that I prefer treating members of a whole family instead of just the children so I chose to pursue family medicine.
