About Arthur Antler
What are some of the specific conditions you treat?
Inflammatory bowel disease; ulcerative colitis; Crohn's disease; chronic liver disease, including cirrhosis and chronic hepatitis; peptic ulcer disease; gastroesophageal reflux disease; and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), colon cancer (screening only). Procedures offered include colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, biopsy abnormal tissue removal, capsule endoscopy to exam the small intestine (able to order and interpret), colon cancer screening.
Describe some of your professional highlights.
I am board certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology and geriatric medicine. I’m a fellow of the American College of Physicians. I graduated New York Medical College in 1975 with honors.
What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?
I approach my care of patients by evaluating the "whole" patient. This includes the psychosocial history of the patient, which often contributes to a patient's physical symptoms. It is well known that the mind and the gut are closely related, and I find the best results occur when both of those aspects of the patient's health are considered.
