Cardiology Programs


Cardiac Catheterization

The Cardiac Catheterization support group is suited for pre-procedure inpatients and outpatients, and includes discussion and a film describing the procedure. For more information, call The Valley Hospital Nursing Education Department at 201-447-8068.

Cardiac Disease Support Group for Women

The Center for Women's Heart Health is pleased to announce the formation of a support group for women who have been diagnosed with cardiac disease. The support group will provide both educational and emotional support from professionals in the field of cardiology, as well as peers. The group will meet once a month to discuss the needs and concerns of its female population. Experts in the field will lecture on topics, which will be determined by the group.

The meetings will be held on the third Thursday of every month in the Board Room at The Valley Hospital from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Cardiac Education

The Cardiac Education support group is for present and former Valley Hospital patients who have experienced a heart attack. Discussion includes identification of risk factors and lifestyle adjustments. For further information, call The Valley Hospital Nursing Education Department at 201-447-8068.

Cardiac Rehabilitation Support Group

Valley conducts a support group for patients in its Cardiac Rehabilitation program. For more information, contact Mindy Laidlaw at 201-447-8439.

Live Wires

Live Wires is a support group for those individuals with implantable defibrillators. The group will meet three to four times a year from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at The Valley Hospital Terrace. For information or to be added to the group’s mailing list, please call 201-447-8119 after 5 p.m.
