The Valley Hospital offers Weekend Ultimate Birthing Experience Classes to prepare the expectant mother and her coach for the birthing experience. This special two-day class is designed for those couples who find it difficult to attend the weekly Lamaze series.
Topics include comfort tips for the last weeks of pregnancy, the process of labor and birth, how coaches can help make the mother more comfortable while in labor, breathing and relaxation techniques that can help during labor. Medications, anesthesia, vaginal and Cesarean birth, and infant care and feeding are also discussed.
The two-day course is part of the Center for Women, Children and Family Education provided by Valley’s Family Wellness Care Center. Classes will be held on and Saturday, December 12, and 19 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., and Saturday, December 5, and 12 from 9:30am – 3:00pm at The Dorothy B. Kraft Center, 15 Essex Road, Paramus.
Early registration is encouraged – classes should be completed four to six weeks before the baby’s due date. The fee is $200.00 per couple.
