July 18, 2014 — For the 14th consecutive year The Valley Hospital has been recognized as one of the nation’s Most Wired Hospitals, according to the 16th annual Health Care’s Most Wired Survey, conducted by Hospitals & Health Networks.
The Most Wired distinction recognizes hospitals for successful health IT planning and implementation. Of the approximately 1,900 hospitals that took part in the survey, 375 met the criteria for recognition as Most Wired.
“The Valley Hospital is proud to have once again made the Most Wired list,” said Eric Carey, Vice President of Information Systems and Chief Information Officer for The Valley Hospital. “Valley is committed to providing excellent clinical care and service, and we continue to invest in technology that helps us improve the quality and delivery of patient care,” he said.
This year's list was compiled through a survey conducted in partnership between the American Hospital Association, AT&T, CareTech Solutions, the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, H&HN, and McKesson.
The survey evaluates hospitals based on four focus areas:
• Business and administrative management;
• Clinical integration for ambulatory, physician, patient and community;
• Clinical quality and safety for both inpatient and outpatient hospitals; and
