May 7, 2014 — The Valley Hospital has been named one of the "150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare” by Becker’s Healthcare.
Becker's 2014 list of "150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare," is a compilation of hospitals, health systems, ambulatory surgery centers, physician groups, vendors and other healthcare organizations that provide excellent work environments and outstanding benefits to their employees.
“We are very proud to be included on this list,” said Audrey Meyers, President and CEO of The Valley Hospital and Valley Health System. “Our organization continues to recruit and retain the best in healthcare. Our workplace culture and celebration of excellence are among the factors that make Valley a great place to work.”
Valley was recognized for its employee loyalty, among other features. The hospital had 640 employees celebrate five-year-increment work anniversaries in 2013. Of those 640, 57 percent had been at The Valley Hospital for 10 years or longer. The hospital is also an American Heart Association Gold Level Fit-Friendly organization.
Added benefits note by Becker’s: Valley offers financial rewards and monthly, weekly and quarterly prizes for wellness initiative participation, along with subsidized gym memberships. The Valley Hospital also provides incentive payments when the hospital meets specific patient satisfaction and financial goals, a leadership development program for management staff, and tuition reimbursement.
Becker's Healthcare has been compiling a list of Great Places to Work in Healthcare annually since 2011, but this is the first year nonprovider organizations were included on the list.
To develop the list, the Becker's Healthcare editorial team conducted research, considered nominations and evaluated organizations based on their benefits, workplace culture, professional development opportunities and previous recognition for workplace excellence. The resulting list is a compilation of 150 healthcare organizations that go above and beyond for their employees and are great places to work.
