As part of its comprehensive continuum of care for patient who have suffered a stroke, The Valley Hospital Stroke Center offers a Stroke Support Group that provides a positive forum for stroke survivors and their caregivers dealing with life issues after a stroke. Members share their challenges, triumphs and other personal experiences after having a stroke.
The Stroke Support Group is coordinated by a licensed social worker. Guest speakers often address the group, some of whom include neurologists, registered dietitians, physical and occupational therapists, and other Valley healthcare providers and physicians. Group members enjoy getting together for social gatherings such as holiday parties or just chatting over coffee and dessert
The group currently meets on the 4th Tuesday of every month from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in The Valley Hospital Board Room. New members are always welcome. The meetings are free, but we ask that those interested in attending call 201-447-8000, ext. 2263, to register for our monthly invitation and newsletter.
Join us as we gather monthly to offer guidance and support in navigating the road to rebuilding your life. The next meeting is scheduled on September 23.
