Dr. Kaczor believes that the mind-body connection can be a powerful tool for patients to utilize in attaining wellness. As a family medicine physician, he enjoys helping his patients integrate modern medical treatments with such complementary therapies as yoga, exercise, nutrition, weight loss, and meditation to improve their quality of life.
"Family medicine emphasizes treating each patient as a whole, instead of concentrating on an organ or body part," he says, citing the groundbreaking work of NYU professor John Sarno, M.D., who advocates the use of mind-body techniques to relieve pain. "I believe in giving each patient every opportunity that is available to help them heal and then stay healthy. Integrating simple approaches, such as healthy eating and relaxation techniques, can help patients stay well and avoid illness."
Dr. Kaczor grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y., and Bergen County. He volunteered for 12 years as an emergency medical technician (EMT) for the Oakland First Aid Squad. He graduated in 2007 from Fairleigh Dickinson University's seven-year combined BS (biology)/MD program with the Karol Marcinkowski University of Medical Sciences in Poznan, Poland.
He completed his residency in 2011 at the Institute for Family Health Mid-Hudson Family Practice Residency Program in Kingston, N.Y., the upstate campus of Beth Israel Medical Center of New York City. While there, he trained for three years in the EpicCare EMR (electric medical record) and used it to study the correlation between race/ethnicity and health disparities.
Dr. Kaczor joined Valley Medical Group in Montvale in January 2012.
"I enjoy providing my patients with comprehensive care within Valley's well-rounded health system, which offers patients of all ages the finest in outpatient and inpatient medical care and allows me the opportunity to help them stay healthy," he says.
