Margaret Dziezanowski, M.D., practices at the Waldwick Center, located at 140 Franklin Turnpike in the Hamilton Square Shopping Center.
A resident of Allendale, Dr. Dziezanowski is board-certified in internal medicine. She is experienced in all aspects of primary care and occupational medicine.
Dr. Dziezanowski has followed several career paths. A graduate of Douglass College, Rutgers University, in New Brunswick, N.J., with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics, she taught junior high school math in Brooklyn, N.Y., for six years. During this period she received her master of fine arts degree in painting from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, then considered a career in medical illustration. Necessary pre-med courses in chemistry and biology awakened her interest in medicine. She completed her pre-med courses at Columbia University, and left teaching to enter New York University School of Medicine. Throughout medical school, she did basic medical research on white blood cells, publishing several papers. She graduated NYU with an M.D degree with Honors.
Dr. Dziezanowski completed a three-year residency in internal medicine at New York Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center, as well as the clinical portion of a fellowship in infectious diseases. She then provided preventive medicine, primary care and occupational health services as an Associate Corporate Medical Director for Squibb Corporation, and later as Associate Medical Director for Bristol-Myers Squibb, following a corporate merger.
Since 1993, she has been in private practice in northern New Jersey, where she has devoted her time to internal medicine with a focus on primary care and occupational health.
Dr. Dziezanowski was elected to membership in Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society, and is a member of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture. During medical school, she received a number of awards, including the Gesner Memorial Award for Research in Immunology, the New York University Alumnae Club Award, the New York University Scholarship, and the Louis and Rachel Rudin Foundation Scholarship.
