Functional Freedom: Living Well with Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders

Scientific evidence supports that daily exercise does indeed improve the ability to move in the individual with Parkinson’s disease. These findings overwhelmingly show that a program of physical therapy combined with appropriate medication has a positive effect on symptoms.

Valley Home Care’s program, Functional Freedom – Living Well with Parkinson’s & Movement Disorders, was created to preserve function and enhance the quality of life for those diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, from the newly diagnosed through advanced stages. The program is designed as a complete wellness program which brings together physical, occupational, and speech therapies, medication management, nursing, and support to empower people with Parkinson’s disease.

Valley Home Care professionals are guided by the scientific evidence that supports the regimen of daily exercise, physical therapy and appropriate medications. The physical and occupational therapists have been specially trained and certified in the evidence-based “Delay the Disease” exercise program.
