Financial Security Benefits

Valley Health System employees take pride in Valley's reputation for community service and high-quality care. They work had to advance Valley Health System's goal of becoming the health care provider of choice for the North Jersey residents and physicians. Our employees also seek to secure their personal financial futures while succeeding in their jobs.

We at Valley Health System believe that helping our employees with financial security alleviates some of the broad concerns about finances that may confront employees.

A 401(k) Plan retirement program is available to all employees of The Valley Health System. Employees can make their own contributions upon the date of hire. All contributions deducted from the employees pay are on a pre-tax basis and deposited into the employees account each pay period. Employees own their accounts and can select their own investment funds. Upon meeting the plan requirements of one year of service and 1,000 hours, a matching contribution will be made.

Short-Term Disability income is provided to all employees should they be unable to work for more than seven (7) days due to a non-work related illness or injury. The program replaces a percentage of the employee's weekly base wage up to maximum set by the state. The employee and Valley Health System share in the cost of this benefit.

Group Life Insurance is provided to offer an employee's beneficiary income should the employee die while actively employed. The policy is available to all full-time employees and is fully paid by Valley Health System.

Voluntary Life and Disability Insurance is available for purchase for employees, as well as additional short-term or long-term disability insurance, through payroll deduction.

Flexible Spending Accounts help employees set aside up to $2,500 annually tax-free for health care expenses not covered by insurance and up to $5,000 annually for dependent care.

A Credit Union is open to membership by all employees to meet their financial needs.

Direct Deposit is available for all employees at their bank or Valley Health System's banks. Employees can use direct deposit to deposit money in up to three accounts.

ATM machines are located for the convenience of employees at The Valley Hospital, the Dorothy B. Kraft Center in Paramus, and the Robert and Audrey Luckow Pavilion in Paramus.
